We now turn our gaze to Spain for the second of Bill Turianski's Euro 2008 map contributions. Bill's map has the basic info on each player, some photos and then a map detailing each player's birthplace. Spain does have one "foreign" player, Brazilian-born Marcos Senna but otherwise it's an all Spanish-born affair and, with the exception of David Silva of the Canary Islands, an all mainland affair. It's also quite well-rounded - four from Madrid, four from Barcelona, four from Andalusia, a couple from Valencia, a Basque. The only major region unrepresented is Galicia in the Northwest. And 5 of the Spanish side now ply their trade in England, surely the most ever for the Spanish national team and a telling comment on the power of the English Premier League.
