The Football on the TV iPhone app is a classic case of a very simple thing done exceptionally well. Unlike so many apps (and so many things in the world period) there are very few if any bells and whistles, no flashy graphics, no dynamic (read complex) menu options - in other words, no distractions. It simply gives you the exact information you're looking for in an extremely easy to use format. Magic!
The app is based off of the Football on the TV website. It does exactly what it says - it tells you when and where to watch football matches on TV. The default screen is a calendar and you can tab your way forward or backward to see all matches being televised on a particular day. Clicking on a match will tell you the channels where the match is being shown.
The second screen (My Team) allows you to select a certain team as your favorite and you can then see upcoming matches for that team. As with all features of the app it only shows matches for the next 15 days, which seems fair enough. If you're planning your TV watching over 2 weeks in advance you might consider taking a walk outside once in a while!
The third screen is channels, which allows you to pick a channel and then all the upcoming matches for that channel are displayed.
The final screen is a search screen, allowing you to search for matches by team, competition or date. Pretty standard stuff.
Overall I've found the app quite useful. I'm not asking for more features but if I was, two things would be at the top of my list:
