Description:

The club's original name of Verdi is a tribute to the composer Giuseppe Verdi, who was born in Parma. Merged with AC Parmense in 1969. The club was associated during the 1990s and first part of the 21st century with the Parmalat dairy conglomerate, who were both sponsors and part-owners. After Parmalat's collapse in 2003, the club was re-formed as Parma FC. The cross in the club's emblem is also prominent in the city of Parma's coat of arms. It is now quite visible in the club's jersey (after many years of absence) and has given risen to the Crociati nickname - a bit of linguistic play which means both Crusaders and the bearers of the cross.

Stadio Ennio Tardini:

The stadium is named for Ennio Tardini, one of the early leaders of the club and principal figures in its construction. He died a few months before its completion.
