Description:

Formed on December 9, 1909. The name Borussia comes from the Borussia brewery, which was near the pub in which the club was founded. Borussia is the Latin word for Prussia, the largest and most powerful of the Northern German states and the driving force behind the creation of the German Empire in the late 19th century. Formed by a local Catholic youth organization, whose membership was mostly Polish. Based in the Nordrhein-Westfalen region of Germany, from which the stadium's traditional name is taken.

Signal Iduna Park:

The stadium was traditionally known as the Westfalenstadion, for the Nordrhein-Westfalen region of Germany. It is currently named for its sponsor, a German financial group. Currently have the largest average attendance in Germany and one of the largest in Europe at over 80,000 per game.
