Description:

In 1923, merged with Bielefelder Turngemeinde. Changed to current name in 1926. Arminius was the name given to a warrior which fended of the Roman army on the ridge of the Teutoburger Wald (allegedly near Bielefeld). He has a huge statue in his honour near Detmold. Hold the record for most promotions to the Bundesliga (seven) but also the most relegations (six).
