Description:

The Associação is the student union of the University of Coimbra. All black uniforms evolved from all-black school uniforms of the founding students. Playing staff was traditionally all students but became professional after the 1974 revolution, though occasionally a first-team player is also a student. The oldest club in Portugal, arguably the most popular club outside of the Big Three. Their fan base includes residents of Coimbra as well as former students nationwide.
