Full Name: PAE Egaleo Football Club Greek Name: Αιγάλεω City: Egaleo Founded: 1931 Stadium: Gipedo Stavros Mavrothalassitis (8217) Colors: Blue, White Previous: Ierapolis Sports Association (1931-46)
Description: Egaleo is a suburb of Athens. Merged with four other clubs in 1946, resulting in the name change to Egaleo. Egaleo is sometimes spelled Aegaleo. Stavros Mavrothalassitis was an old mayor of Egaleo, and played an important role in the stadium's construction. The stadium suffered extensive damage during the 1999 earthquake and the club had to play in the Peristeri Stadium (1999-2001) and later the Korydallos Stadium (2001-02). After its reopening in 2006, its capacity was limited to roughly 3000 due to remaining structural damage.
