Description:
The club was founded on July 19,1908 as Wilhelmina 08 by youths who played in the square in front of Wilhelmina Church. Feijenoord is a district of Rotterdam-South. The name was 'internationalized' in 1973. The club's motto is Geen woorden maar daden (No words but deeds) which fairly accurately reflects the working-class core of the fanbase. Their supporters are called Het Legioen (The Legion). The stadium, De Kuip, means 'The Tub'. Feyenoord's arch-rivals are Ajax, their matches are called De klassieker - the classic one. Previous stadiums - Afrikaander Plein (1908-17).
