Description:
Founded on August 4, 1904. The name translates as Sports Association Comrades Gothenburg. One of the Swedish Big Three, along with Malmö FF and AIK. The only Swedish club to have won a European tournament - the UEFA Cup, which they have won twice. They also reached the European Cup semifinal in 1986. IFK are the most popular club in Sweden. There are a number of loosely affiliated IFK groups across the country. The original organization of the group was published in the youth newspaper Kamraten (The Comrade). The club's emblem is that of the city of Gothenburg. Previous Stadiums: Idrottsplatsen (1905-16), Gamla Ullevi, (1916-58), Ullevi (1958-91), Gamla Ullevi (1992-2006).
