Description: Created by the merger of Club Amateur Sportif and Stade Montois. Named for the reigning Belgian monarchs at the time of the club's creation. Royal is an honorary title given by the Belgian royal family to every club in Belgium after twenty-five years of existence. The colors Red and White are the official colors of the city of Mons. The Dragons nickname is a reference to the Ducasse festival which is held in Mons every year to celebrate Sainte-Waudru. The climax of the festival is a battle between St. George and the dragon, known as Lumeçon in th main square of Mons. The stadium is named for a former club president. Matricule# 44.
