Description:
Like all Belgian clubs the club received the honorific Royal title to add to their name after twenty-five years of membership in the Belgian FA. Merged with RFC Tilleur-Saint-Nicolas from the suburbs of Liège in 1995 to avoid bankruptcy. RFC de Liège were sued by Jean-Marc Bosman for not releasing him from contract, which led the ground-breaking Bosman Ruling. Previous Stadiums: Vélodrome Boverie (1892-93), Jardins du Château de Sclessin (1893-96), Terril du Bois d'Avroy (1896-97), Cointe - Plaine du Champ d'Oiseaux (1897-1915), Angleur - Renory (1915-21), Stade Vélodrome de Rocourt (1921-94), Stade de Sclessin (1994-95), Tilleur - Buraufosse (1995-99), Seraing - Pairay (1999-2004). RFC de Liège currently play in the small town of Ans to the west of Liège while a new stadium is being built. Matricule #4.
