Description:

Formed by three members of Americano when the club left Santos for São Paulo. Santos is a coastal port town, giving meaning to the nickname 'Peixe' (fish), which first began to be used after a 1933 game against Baixada. Although the nickname is fish, the club mascot is actually a whale. Santos is famously the original club of Pelé, and the only Brazilian club he ever played for. The club's first championship is from the unofficial national championship of the era,  the Taça Roberto Gomes Pedrosa. Urbano Caldeira is a former player, manager and chairman and the stadium is named for him.

Trophy Room:
* Brazilian Championship (2002, 04)
* Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa (1968)
* Taça do Brasil (1961, 62, 63, 64, 65)
