Formed as a merger of Zulte and Waregem in 2001. The ancestry of Zulte: Zulte Sportief (1950-76), merged with SK Zulte to become Zultse VV (1976-2001). The ancestry of Waregem: Waereghem Sportif (1925-45), Waregem Sportif (1945-46), merged with Red Star Waregem to become SV Waregem (1946-51), KSV Waregem (1951-2001). Regenboogstadion = rainbow stadium. Zulte and Waregem are nearby towns in the province of West Flanders. The club's offices are in Zulte, while the stadium is in Waregem. Matricule# 5381.
