Small Heath Alliance were formed as an off-season sporting pursuit by cricket-playing members of Trinity Church, Bordesley in Birmingham. Small Heath is a suburb of East Birmingham and is just south of Bordesley.  In 1888 the name of the club was simplified to Small Heath. The following year Small Heath were founder members of the Football Alliance before moving to the newly-created Football League Division Two in 1892. 1905 Small Heath became Birmingham FC and one year later moved a bit closer to the city center to St Andrew's stadium on St Andrew's street. Almost forty years later the Blues adopted their current name of Birmingham City Football Club. Birmingham City fans carry the nickname Bluenoses. The club's emblem features a globe, a football and an intertwined banner displaying the name and foundation date. The emblem was chosen in a public competition in 1972.

St. Andrew's:

The St. Andrew's stadium is named for a church of the same name that was once located nearby. Previous stadiums - Arthur Street (1875-77), Muntz Street (1877-1906)
