Description:

Botev Vratsa were founded by a group of football enthusiasts near the Old Market of Vratsa in 1921. The team takes its name from Bulgarian patriot Hristo Botev. Botev Vratsa made its first appearance in the Bulgarian First Division in 1964 and remained there for 26 consecutive years. Their best finish was 3rd in 1971 which led to their only appearance in Europe, a first round exit to Dinamo Zagreb. Botev have reached the Bulgarian Cup semifinals three times over the years but have yet to reach a final. Amongst other players Botev Vratsa is the original club of Martin Petrov.

Stadion Hristo Botev:

The Stadion Hristo Botev (Hristo Botev Stadium) was built in 1948 and, like the team, is named for Bulgarian patriot Hristo Botev.
