Details:Full Name: Club Deportivo Guadalajara Description:Chivas has a Mexicans-only policy and has never used foreign players. The 'Goats' nickname was used as an insult by a journalist in 1948, picked up by opposing fans and eventually adopted by the club's supporters themselves with pride. The derby with América is always the biggest match on the Mexican calendar. The club was founded by a Belgian shopkeeper and its uniforms were based on that of the Belgian team Club Brugge, though the Belgian club has since changed its uniforms. Chivas Logo:The Chivas logo includes the coat of arms of the city of Guadalajara on top of a circular shield. The shield has the red and white vertical stripes found on the Chivas shirt circled by the full name Club Deportivo Guadajalara. Below the Chivas logo is a star for each time Guadalajara has won the Mexican championship. Estadio Omnilife:Chivas Guadalajara moved to the Estadio Omnilife (named for the title sponsor Omnilife) in August 2010, located on the western outskirts of the city of Guadalajara. Omnilife is a nutritional supplements company owned by Jorge Vergara, president of Chivas Guadalajara.
Previous Stadiums: Estadio Jalisco (-2010).
