Description:

Falkirk Football Club are joint holders (along with St Johnstone) of the record for the most second-tier league titles in Scotland - 7. But as you can imagine with all those league titles have come quite a few relegations as well. Falkirk are a classic elevator team - not quite good enough for the first tier but too good for the second. One of those league titles though (2004) did not result in promotion as the Scottish Premier League had just introduced requirements on a minimum stadium size for members and Falkirk's was well too small. The following season the requirement was lowered and Falkirk attained the unusual honor of winning the Scottish First Division title two consecutive years.

Falkirk's nickname - The Bairns - is derived from the old Burgh of Falkirk motto - Better meddle wi' the deil than the Bairns O' Falkirk. Bairn is a Scottish term for sons or daughters.

Falkirk Stadium:

Previous stadium: Randyford (1876-81), Blinkbonny Grounds (1881-83), Brockville Park (1883-2003).
