Description: At the end of the 2001-02 season RWDM (Racing White Daring Molenbeek) were first relegated to the third division for financial problems and then declared bankrupt and their historic matricule #47 was gone forever. This left the municipality of Molenbeek-Saint Jean (a suburb of Brussels) without a tenant for its 15,000 seat stadium. KFC Strombeek (a small club from the outskirts of Brussels founded in 1932) were convinced into moving to the Stade Edmond Machtens. The club went through a dizzying seven name changes that first season. The club eventually adopted the name of FC Brussels and have attracted the majority of RWDM's fans although a small group created a new RWDM that started anew at the bottom of the Belgian football pyramid. The stadium is named for Edmond Machtens, a former mayor of Molenbeek. Matricule# 1936.
