Description: Founded by the ZIL automotive plant, long-time owners of Torpedo Moscow. A few years after selling Torpedo to the Luzhniki group they launched a new club called Torpedo-ZIL.They were sold in 2003 to Norilsk Nickel (a metals company), resulting in the change to Torpedo-Metallurg. The city of Moscow purchased the club in 2004 resulting in the most recent name change. The Caps nickname is a reference to the Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov, who typically wears a cap.
