Description: Dyskobolia means discus in the sense of the track and field event. In 1925 Dyskobolia merged with Florencja, also of Grodzisk Wielkopolski. In the 1940s and 50s the club went through several politically-inspired name changes and mergers before returning to its traditional name in 1955. From 1993 to 1996 Dyskobolia merged with Orkan under the name Dyskobolia/Orkan Grodzisk Wielkopolski. In 2000 the club adopted its current name of Groclin Dyskobolia. The president of Groclin Dyskobolia is Zbigniew Drzymała, owner of the Inter Groclin automaker. He took charge of the club in 1993 and at that point the club began a steady rise through the ranks of Polish football, eventually reaching the top flight. It's an extraordinary feat for a club based in a town of less than 15,000 people.
During the summer of 2008 the Groclin Dsykobolia merged with Polonia Warsaw. Effectively the first division license of Groclin was transfered to Polonia while a new Groclin begins life in the fifth-tier 4 Liga.
Trophy Room: * Polish Cup (2005, 07) * Polish League Cup (2008)
