Description:

Founded in 1923 as ASASSpor. They were purchased by first division club Gençlerbirliği in 2003 during a financial crisis and renamed Gençlerbirliği ASASSpor. The named was changed to Gençlerbirliği OFTAŞ after a change of sponsorship. They are effectively a reserve team for Gençlerbirliği but both will be competing in the Turkish Super League in 2007-08. After the 2008 season the club changed its name to Hacettepe, after an older Ankara club of the same name. The colors were also changed from red, black and white to purple and white and a new emblem was adopted. Hacettepe is a neighborhood of Ankara.
