Description:
Founded on November 1, 1908 by previous members of Club El Uracán. The club is named for a hot air balloon of Jorge Newbery, one of the early pioneers of air transport in South America. Based in the Parque Patricios neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The Globo nickname comes from the hot air balloon symbolism in the name and emblem - globo aerostático is the Spanish translation of hot air balloon. The Queremos nickname comes from a garbage burning station which was once located at the stadium's present site. It is named for a former club president.
