Full Name: Club Jaguares de Chiapas City: Tuxtla Gutierrez Founded: 2002 Stadium: Estadio Victor Manuel Reyna (25,000) Colors: Black, Orange, White
Description: The club was formed in 2002 after the franchise of Irapuato was purchased and moved to Tuxtla Gutierrez by way of Veracruz. At the start of the 2001-02 season Irapuato were in the 1st division and Veracruz were in the 2nd division. After the first half of the season Veracruz bought the franchise of Irapuato and moved them to Veracruz. So for the 2nd half of the 2001-02 season there was a Veracruz A in the 1st division and a Veracruz B in the 2nd division. Veracruz B managed to win promotion so for 2002-03 there would be 2 Veracruz teams in the 1st division. So they sold one of the franchises (the one they bought from Irapuato) and moved it to Chiapas.
