Description:

Formed in 1952 as the culmination of a series of mergers between the city's football clubs. 1. FV Sport Mühlburg (1890) and Viktoria Mühlburg (1892) merged into FC Mühlburg in 1905. Mühlburg is a section of the city of Karlsruhe. Meanwhile FC Germania (1898) and FC Weststadt (1902) merged into VfB Karlsruhe in 1911. In 1933 these two clubs merged into VfB Mühlburg. On the other side of the aisle, KFC Phönix (1894) and KFC Alemannia (1897) merged into KFC Phoenix (Phoenix Alemannia) in 1912. All these mergers were finally concluded on October 16, 1952 with the creation of Karlsruher Sport-Club Mühlburg-Phönix. KFC Phönix won the German championship in 1909.
