Club Atlético Osasuna was founded on November 17, 1920 as a merger of Sportiva and New Club. The full name translates as Osasuna Athletic Club and, like many Spanish clubs, contains sports sections besides soccer. 'Osasuna' is a toast to good health in the Basque language. Pamplona is the capital of the Navarra region of Spain which, though not part of the autonomous Basque Country, has a large Basque population. Reached the Copa del Rey final in 2005 and the UEFA Cup semifinal in 2007. Both main nicknames Rojillos and Gorritxo mean "Little Reds", the former in Spanish and the latter in Euskadi/Basque. The club's emblem is based on that of the city of Pamplona.
Estadio Reyno de Navarra - El Sadar:
The stadium is sponsored by the Government of Navarra and "Reyno de Navarra" is the official tourist slogan of the region. It was known as El Sadar until 2005, named for a river which runs through the city and near the stadium.
