Description: Oldest football club in the Mexican League. Founded by English miners from the Compañia Real del Monte de Pachuca. The stadium is named for the state in which the city of Pachuca is located. Although they are considered the oldest club, they have also had several lengthy absences from league football. The Tuzos (gophers) nickname is a reference to the club's origins as a team from a mining company. Miners --> burrowing --> gophers.
