Description:

The club is based in western Bucharest neighborhood of Cotroceni, for which the stadium is named. The name Progresul means Progress.

Progresul were excluded from the Romanian Second Division (Liga II - Seria I) for financial irregularities midway through the 2008-09 season. They have also lost the lease on their stadium and at the moment it is unclear if the club are going to be playing anywhere in 2009-10.
