Real Zaragoza was created on March 18, 1932 as a merger of Iberia SC and Zaragoza CD. Zaragoza CD was formed as Zaragoza Fútbol Club in 1903. In 1924 they absorbed Fuenclara and in 1925 Real Sociedad Atlética Stadium, adopting the new name of Zaragoza CD. After the merger the club adopted the Real honorific previously granted to Stadium and incorporated the royal crown into the club's logo. The logo mirrors that of the city of Zaragoza. The club colors of Real Zaragoza are the official colors of the Aragon Football Association. Zaragoza is the principal city of the Aragon region of northeastern Spain.
Estadio La Romareda:
The stadium is located in the Romareda district in the southwest of Zaragoza. The earlier Torrero stadium was located in a similary-named neighborhood in the south of the city.
