Description:
Kapfenberger Sportclub was founded on September 14, 1919 in the Styrian city of Kapfenberg. In 1947 it was relaunched as Kapfenberger Sportvereinigung (Sports Association of Kapfenberg). The club is normally known as SV Kapfenberg. It is a multi-sports club that also encompasses ice hockey and handball among others. SV Kapfenberg have the nickname Die Falken (The Falcons) and the club's emblem prominently includes a falcon over a soccer ball, as well as the initials KSV, its 1919 year of foundation. SV Kapfenberg play at the Franz-Fekete-Stadion, named for a former mayor of the city of Kapfenberg who was instrumental in a substantial expansion and modernization of the stadium in the 1980s.
