Bulgarian Name: Светкавица Търговище Description:Svetkavitsa Targovishte were formed in 1922 by the merger of two local Targovishte clubs Levski and Botev. Svetkavitsa translates as "flash" or "lightning". Svetkavitsa had played an incredible 49 seasons in the Bulgarian second division (more than any other Bulgarian club) without promotion. But the Targovishte club finally won a promotion playoff in the summer of 2011 and make their A Group debut in 2011-12. While the club traces its ancestry to 1922 it has gone through numerous name changes and reorganizations (often politically motivated) like so many Bulgarian clubs. Stadion Dimitar Burkov:The Stadion Dimitar Burkov (Dimitar Burkov Stadium) opened in 1971 and has been the home of Svetkavitsa Targovishte since that day. It is located in the southwest side in the city of Targovishte and is named for Dimitar Burkov, a local Communist partisan hero.
