Description:
Founded as the company team of the Yomiuri newspaper, now owned by NTV - Japan's largest television station. The first Japanese team to turn professional, in the mid-80s. Verdy = green, symbolic of the original Yomiuri club's Brazilian connection. The club was known as Verdy 1969 for several years, recognizing the year of their foundation.
