Description:
Torino FC were founded on December 3, 1906 at the Birreria Voigt as a fusion of FC Torinese and dissident members of Juventus. The nickname Toro is an abbreviation of the club name, but nicely coincides with the Italian word for bull. It is also featured on the club's emblem. Another common nickname is the Granata, referencing their garnet colors.
The biggest (and saddest) event in Torino FC's history was the 1949 Superga plane crash, in which all but one of the club's players were killed when their plane crashed into the Superga hill on its descent into Turin. Toro had the best team in Italy at that time, the famous Grande Torino, having won 5 titles in succession. Sadly the Granta have never reached those heights again.
Torino FC (previously Torino Calcio) were re-founded in 2005 with a new name because of financial problems.
Toro's best success in Europe was reaching the UEFA Cup final in 1992.
Stadio Olimpico:
The Stadio Olimpico hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and is actually the rebuilt Stadio Communale.
Previous stadiums: Filadelfia, Communale, Delle Alpi.

Became a Toro fan at 8 years old when I spent the summer at my grandmothers house in Torino. Since then visiting Superga and learning the history of the club is fascinating. Not sure but most of Torinos youth players are with Juve. In order for Il Toro to come back the prima vera needs to be strong.
