Description:

Zenit = Zenith. Stalinets = Stalinist. Formed as the workers team of a metallurgical plant. The plant became owned by the military and the club came under the Zenit sports club umbrella. At this time they were merged with an existing Zenit football team playing in a lower division. Reached the quarterfinals of the 2006 UEFA Cup and two years later went a couple steps better, reaching the final and winning it.
