Description:

The Eredivisie (Honor Division) is the top tier league in the Dutch soccer system. The 18 clubs play each other twice (home and away) for a total of 34 games. The bottom club is automatically relegated. The 16th and 17th teams go into a promotion/relegation playoff (the Nacomptie) with eight teams from the second-tier Eerste Divisie. The season runs from August through May with a one month winter break.
