Description:

The Primera B Nacional, the second tier of Argentine football, translates as the National Premier B. Teams play each twice (home and away) for a total of 38 games. The top two teams are promoted to the Primera División while the 3rd and 4th teams go into playoffs with teams 17 and 18 from the Primera División. Relegation is based on the average points obtained over the past three seasons. The bottom club from the Buenos Aires metropolitan area and the bottom club from the interior are automatically relegated. The 2nd last metropolitan and 2nd last interior club go into promotion/relegation playoffs with the 2nd best team from the Primera B and Torneo Argentino A respectively. The season runs from August to June.
