Details:Full Name: Russian First Division (Профессиональная футбольная Лига Первый дивизион) Description:Russian football is transitioning its calendar and will effectively play a season and a half long season for 2011-12. In the first stage each of the 20 teams will play each other twice (home and away) for a total of 38 games. For the second stage the teams will be divided into a top group of 8 teams and a bottom group of 12 teams, and in each group each team will play every other team twice (home and away). The top 2 teams from the top group will be promoted automatically to the Premier League, while the 3rd and 4th placed teams will enter promotion/relegation playoffs against 2 teams from the Premier League. Meanwhile the bottom 5 teams from the bottom group are relegated to the third-tier Second Division. Russian First Division Map:Links:
