Description:

Superettan translates into English as "The super one", in other words the Super First Division. Each of the 16 clubs plays each other twice (home and away) for a total of 30 games. The season runs from April to November. The top two teams are automatically promoted to the Allsvenskan while the 3rd placed team enters a promotion/relegation playoff with the 14th placed team from the Allsvenskan. The bottom two teams are relegated to the third-tier Division 1 while the 13th and 14th placed teams enter playoffs against the 2 2nd-placed teams from Division 1.
